Create your crew profile

CREW NAME + PHONE NUMBER

This is the step people miss, and it wants far less than it looks like. Only the crew name and a phone number are needed — the legal entity name, your yard address, crew size, foreman and service radius are all optional and can be filled in whenever. References are optional too.

Add your certificate of insurance

From your dashboard, upload the certificate and enter the expiry date. A person on our team reads it and records that date — we don't assess your limits or exclusions, so make sure the certificate says what you want a contractor to see. When coverage lapses you drop out of search until it's renewed, and we email you before it does.

Put a W-9 on file

A SIGNED W-9

You're the side that gets paid, so a signed W-9 has to be on file before contractors can hire you. We hold the document — we don't audit what's on it. It is never shown to another company.

Go live

NOTHING FROM YOU

Once the insurance is reviewed and the W-9 is on file, our team signs off and your crew appears in the directory. Contractors can then find you, send you scoped work, and invite you to bid on jobs. You'll get an email when it happens.

No license

Texas doesn't license roofing crews, so we don't ask for one.

No references needed

Optional, and never a condition of going live. Add them whenever you like.

Where people actually get stuck

I made an account but I can't find anything. What now?
You have a login but not a crew profile yet, and almost everything on SubConnects hangs off the profile. Go to the crew setup form and give it two things — your crew name and a phone number. Everything else on that page is optional and can be finished later from your dashboard.
It says a reference is required. Is it?
No. References are optional to sign up and optional to go live. If you type a contact's name we do need their phone number, because we phone the references we're given — so if you don't have the number to hand, clear both the name and the phone on that slot and add it later from your dashboard.
Do I need a roofing license?
No. Texas does not license roofing crews, so we don't ask for one. Contractors are asked for a license or business registration; crews are not. If you happen to hold a city registration you can record it, but it changes nothing about going live.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Crews are free — no listing fee, no commission, and no cut of what a contractor pays you. The only thing a crew can pay for is an optional $19 a month jobs-and-payments workspace, and skipping it costs you nothing in the directory.
I never got the confirmation email.
Check spam first. If it isn't there, the account already exists, so signing up again will tell you to sign in instead — email support and we'll sort the confirmation out rather than you creating a second account on a different address.
How long does review take?
A person on our team reviews your documents by hand, so it isn't instant. We'll tell you what's outstanding and where you are. Nothing auto-approves.
